Hi Friend! I'm Mallory! Hair nerd and founder of Craft House Salon, where I proudly craft custom cuts.
As a small business owner, mom, and wife, I understand the challenges of making 'you time'. When you're in my chair, it's my goal to create a safe place for you to feel seen and heard while we create great hair together.
2024 marks my 20th year professionally cutting hair. However, I started giving DIY cuts in my bathroom to all my friends in college. While at that time, I didn't know hair was my art (my first love was music management), I fell hard for the transformative sculpting process that is haircutting.
Education-obsessed and a reform(ing) perfectionist, I spent many years persistently mastering my craft by pursuing intensive training with prestigious houses like Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble, Allilon, Zgat, and Wella.
To say I am passionate about sharing knowledge with other professionals is an understatement. I have been honored to teach precision haircutting nationally for global companies such as Davines and Karral. Now, I focus on our in-house education and keep my travel to other salons based on the East Coast.
Outside of being behind the chair and teaching, I have had a blast curating collections published in, Beauty Launchpad, Behind the Chair.com, and New Jersey Bride Magazine. In 2018, I put down my editorial tools to focus on leading the amazing team at Craft House Salon and helping them grow and achieve their goals.
Most stylists can offer a great cut, but my superpower is listening. I find great joy in truly hearing you, understanding your needs, and getting to the root of your hair woes. From there crafting a style that suits who you are . Truly, nothing makes me happier than cultivating a shape that you can effortlessly recreate at home—especially when it comes to making you feel beautiful not only in my chair but in the wild as well.
When I am not in the salon, your girl has many hobbies. Moving my body is essential, yoga, running or playing soccer. But I do love a lazy day at the beach with my husband and daughter, where you can find me parked under an umbrella crocheting, reading, or listening to a murder podcast. Don't forget to say, "Hi!" if you see me around town walking my two pups, Milo and Luna- they are poorly trained but really sweet.
Whether you're up for a fun conversation about existentialism or Bravo or simply prefer sitting in silence and relaxing while we collaborate on a look that suits you best, click the link, and let's get movin' and goovin'.
Looking forward to seeing you!
